Paper Things by Jennifer Richard Johnson

Reviewed By: Maya Kulesza

Paper Things is a realistic fiction book. The main character of this book is Ari Hazard. This story takes place in various places because the character is homeless. This story is about how Ari faces her problem of homelessness along with her brother. Her problem affects her life greatly both in positive and negative ways. Read this book to find out how it ends!

Why I Picked It Up: I picked this book up twice actually. The first time I had picked it up because the cover looked simple yet promising and also because the summary on the back of the book had convinced me to read it. The second time I had picked up the book was for a reading club at my school.

Why I Finished It: I finished this book because it had made really good points and had given me an entirely different perspective on things. The book was also relatable in a way. The pages were filled with interesting events that had all convinced me to not put the book down and continue reading.

I’d Give This Book To: I would recommend this book to all ages. I think people should really get to see Ari's perspective. This story can definitely change someone's perspective on homelessness. I would give this book a 10/10.
