Burn Out by Kristi Helvig

Oh. My. Goodness. This has got to be one of the best books I've ever read in my lifetime! This book is about how the Sun starts expanding and "swallowing" any planets in its way. A girl named Tora, 17, is one of the last remaining humans on Earth, while everyone else is practically dead. The sun is expanding and becoming larger and larger, causing Earth to dry up like crazy. Resources are very valuable at this time, with water being very scarce. In the end, Tora must choose between saving herself or honoring her father's request to save humanity from the most lethal weapons in existence.

Why I Picked It Up: I picked this up because I really needed a good book to read, and I couldn't decide on one. I had gone over to our "March Mystery" stand and grabbed a random book.

Why I Finished It: I finished this book because, like I had stated before, this had been an AMAZING book so far and I was hooked. At times though, I literally had wanted to throw it at a wall because I had been mad at decisions made by the characters, but at other times, I had literally wanted to marry it!

I’d Give This Book To: I would recommend this book for grades 7+ because at first, it's a bit hard to understand, but overall, I'd recommend this book to people interested in the Earth, Fantasy, Sun Expansions, etc.
