Lame Little Prince by Dinah Maria Mulock Craik

Reviewed By: J.P.

During his christening prince Dolor is accidentally dropped and becomes paralyzed, soon after his father the king dies, and his uncle takes prince Dolor’s place. Also he sends prince Dolor to a remote tower-house and gives him a fake funeral, while in his tower-house prince Dolor receives lessons from his grumpy nurse, and thinks his life is normal, because he has known nothing else. After saying he wanted someone to be with him Dolor meets his godmother, who gives him a traveling cloak. And using the cloak he travels around and finds many interesting things to keep him entertained, but also learns some lessons, and also learns that his legs aren’t like everyone else’s. After traveling in his cloak he learns of conflicts in a kingdom and wants to do something about it, but since he is a cripple, how can he do anything?

Why I Picked It Up: I picked it up because it caught my attention and I was just looking for a good book to read so I checked it out and when I did I just kept reading.

Why I Finished It: It is an interesting story and it kept my attention until the end, and I just couldn’t seem to put it down.

I’d Give This Book To: I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read. I would also recommend this book to young kids, or people who like to read fun and short stories. It’s a good book!
