Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen

Reviewed By: B.K.

Lock and Key was a very meaningful book. It was about a young girl named Ruby who basically took care of herself, since her mother wasn't a "people person." When her mother leaves her, and doesn't come back, Ruby lives by herself, finding ways to make people think that her mom is still home. Eventually, people find out that Ruby is living by herself, and since she isn't 18 yet, she has to go live with her sister who had left years before to dorm in college. She had eventually gotten married. Now, Ruby has to go live with her, and she barely knows her since she's so different from when she used to live with Ruby.

Why I Picked It Up: I picked this book because my sister had recommended the author, Sarah Dessen, to me. I decided to try one of her books, which turned out to be Lock and Key, and instantly fell in love with this well written novel.

Why I Finished It: I finished this book because I wanted to know what happened at the end of Ruby's great adventure.

I’d Give This Book To: I would recommend it to those who enjoy books that consist of a strong character, who overcomes great challenges.
