The Future of Us by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler

Reviewed By: D.B.D.
In this book you will be experiencing the world of Josh and Emma. After a little incident these two former best friends find something called Facebook. Since it is 1996 they have no idea what this is. On this strange website they find themselves 15 years into the future. Emma doesn’t exactly like her future and decides to change it up. Messing with your future isn’t the best idea for her. Josh on the other hand loves his future and thinks it can’t get any better. Inside this wild adventure you will find two people who have to decide whether or not they like their future. In conclusion, Josh and Emma are very realistic people and characters who you will fall in love with from the first page.
Why I Picked it Up: : I was reading a sad book and decided that I needed a break from it. My teacher showed me this and explained to me what it was about and said that I should give it a try. So I did.
Why I Finished It: : I finished it because the characters felt so real and I wanted to know what happened at the end. Also the storyline was very creative and made me want to know more of their world.
I’d Give this Book To: I would recommend this to people who love romance and stories that are realistic. Also this is a book that leans more towards girls but it still fits any gender. Also I would recommend this to people who are in need of a contemporary novel.

**Librarian Side Note** Recognize the author?? That's because Jay Asher is the author of 13 Reasons Why! Also, what's not to love about a book that takes place pre-Facebook? Can you even imagine a world without it now?
