Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama

Reviewed By: A.T.
Set in the future after humanity is nearly wiped out by giant humanoid monsters who eat people, we meet Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, three friends who are living behind the three circled walls that protect what is left of the human race. These walls keep everyone safe because they are 100 meters tall, much taller than the tallest Titan...or so they thought! Enter the giant Titan, so tall that its head towers over the wall! Able to punch a hole in their protective outer wall, the smaller Titans that have devoured the rest of humanity pour in the wall as the soldiers scramble to save the people as well as themselves from certain destruction. This fateful day will set these three friends on a path to fight for the human race and rid the world of Titans forever. That is, if they can all survive long enough to grow up and join the Survey Corps (the group that fights the Titans). This fast paced manga is nonstop action and the story only gets better as you go along!
Why I Picked it Up: All the teens in Animanga have been talking about this, and I saw it was at the Library, so I had to see what all the fuss was about.
Why I Finished It: I love manga because they are so quick! Plus, I had to figure out what these titans were all about.
I’d Give this Book To: Anyone who loves manga but doesn't mind a bit of gore and dystopian future.

**Librarian Side Note** The Library has the first four volumes in the series, plus, there is an anime out there of the same story. I haven't seen it yet, but the manga series sort of reminds me of Bleach, another great manga/anime series that I have read/watched both of!
