Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

Reviewed By: S.
Percy is attending school and he has a cyclops for a friends but never notices because the cyclops, Tyson, is about 6 feet tall and cries as much a baby cries. In the school, it's time for Volleyball so everyone is in their positions when more people join the opposing team. They turn into Laistrygonians, hairy 8 foot tall cannibal giants with tattooed arms. Basically, the whole gym gets torn down. Annabeth magically appears and takes Tyson and Percy to Camp Half-Blood. More fighting occurs there. At night while Percy was sleeping, Grover sent him an empathy link which allows Percy to see what's going on. Gover(satyr) is in the search for the lost god of the wild, Pan. It lead him to the golden fleece guarded by a mean satyr eating cyclops. Grover is pretending to be a woman in a bridal dress who is supposed to be marrying that cyclops in a week. Percy and Annabeth have 1 week to save Grover before he becomes satyr soup. Will they make it in time?
Why I Picked it Up: I read the 1st book in the series.
Why I Finished It: It was good but the Clarise part kind of ruined the whole point. Who's Clarise?  Read the book to find out!
I’d Give this Book To: Anyone who likes action, adventure, and modern history.

**Librarian Side Note** This is the second book in a fantastic series (The Lightning Theif is book 1).  Plus, this book has been made into a movie that will be released late this summer!  So make sure to get into the Library this summer to read the book before you go see the movie!
