Envy by Gregg Olsen

What an excellent mystery with just the tiniest hint of supernatural here, but it wasn't what I was expecting at all. This book focuses on the lives of Haley and Taylor Ryan, twins from a small town in the state of Washington. They've always been special, but they keep their special abilities to themselves (I said there was a hint of supernatural... think "twin sense"). It appears as if they can sense something from beyond, it's never straightforward, and together the twins decipher what "clues" they are given. Throughout the story, they receive messages, and the girls use their ability to try and solve the apparent suicide of the girl next door, a girl that they were once friends with, and a girl that they survived a horrible accident with many years earlier. Does the accident have something to do with her death? Was their friend killed? To find the book!
Why I Picked it Up: I have been meaning to read these books since October, since they are a little bit spooky. Did I mention this was the first in a series? I love the look of the covers, and the whole premise was quite interesting. Plus, I always wished I had a twin, or at least a sister!
Why I Finished It: I like the way the author takes his plots from the headlines, and at the end of the story, he tells you exactly which top news stories gave him the ideas for his book
I’d Give this Book To: Any teen who like a little supernatural with their mystery. The writer does a good job of really getting into these girls lives, and he leaves just enough of a teaser to make you want to read more of his books!
