Paper Towns by John Green

Reviewed By: A.T.
The books is told from the point of view of Quentin Jacobsen, or Q as he's known to his friends. He is a 17 year old senior in high school in a suburb of Orlando, FL, and he is head over heels in love with his next door neighbor, Margo Roth Spiegelman. While they may have been good friends when they were little, as they grew up they went their own ways with their own circle of friends. Now it's three weeks away from high school graduation, and Margo has shined her spotlight on Q again. She asks him for help in getting revenge on her cheating boyfriend and less than loyal friends, and in one amazing night they get it all done. It's the best night of Q's life, and he can't wait to see Margo at school the next day, only there's one little problem. Margo Roth Spiegelman has run away...again! With her parents giving up on her, it's up to Q and his friends to solve the series of clues Margo has left behind. Will they be able to figure out the clues in time? Will Q ever be able to find Margo?
Why I Picked it Up: John Green is my new FAVORITE author! The first book I read by him was The Fault in Our Stars earlier this year, quickly followed by Will Grayson, Will Grayson. It is now my mission in life to get as many people as possible to read his books!
Why I Finished It: The mystery was too intense, and I was so invested in Q and Margo's story that I had to find out what happened to her! Plus, as always, his writing makes me laugh out loud, so who wouldn't want to finish a book that makes you laugh?
I’d Give this Book To: I would give this to any high school student, boy or girl, who has ever read anything by John Green. His characters are strong, witty, and maybe a bit too grown up (aka unrealistic) but that's what makes his books so awesome! Trust me...you just have to read one of his books to become a fan.
