Smile by Raina Telgemeier

Reviewed By: K.H.
Smile is Raina Telgemeier's biography and it is written in a graphic novel. When she was in 6th grade she was running, fell and knocked out her two front teeth. How humiliating! Throughout middle school and into high school she is still dealing with dental issues and her not-so-nice friends tease her continuously. Ugh! Being a teen is frustrating, humiliating and difficult! And, the best part is, Raina Telgemeier agrees.
Why I Picked it Up: I picked this book up for class. I didn't want to read it because I thought it was too young looking but I changed my mind half-way through.
Why I Finished It: I could relate to what Raina was feeling. She was going through teen stuff just like I did when I was a teen.
I’d Give this Book To: I would recommend this book to any teen who has ever felt lonely, frustrated, humiliated, excited, confused...okay I guess I would recommend this to any teen who has ever had a feeling. You won't regret reading this book...even if it does look like it is for younger people.
