Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Reviewed By: A.T.
Meet Lola. A budding designer growing up in San Francisco. She's a HUGE fan of costume, and she shows the world a different Lola everyday. So far, her life has been pretty awesome. Good family, good grades, hot rocker boyfriend...and then the Bell twins move back into the neighborhood. First there is Calliope (pronounced Ca-Lie-O-Pea), little miss perfect ice skater who is training to be in the Olympics. And then there is Cricket. He's always been his sisters biggest fan, and he's been Lola's biggest heart break. Now that he's back in her life, will he be able to step out from his sister's Olympic sized shadow and show Lola how to be herself? Read the book to find out!
Why I Picked it Up: This book was too cute! It's actually a companion novel to Anna and the French Kiss (another great book, and an Abraham Lincoln Award nominee) so while it's not a "sequel" you get a bit of overlap with a few of the characters.
Why I Finished It: Another epic love story that I had to know how it ends! Plus, I had to find out how Calliope did in her ice skating competition!
I’d Give this Book To: Anyone who likes a little bit of light romance and fun. Also, anyone who read Anna and the French Kiss and LOVED it!
