Death Cloud by Andrew Lane

Reviewed By: A.T.
Wow! First, I loved the idea that Sherlock Holmes was a young boy once. Typically you only think of him as an old man solving mysteries left and right with his powers of keen observation, but here was a chance to see why he turned out the way he did. It's the summer of 1868, and a 14 year old Sherlock is summering with some relatives in the English countryside. Soon the whole area is in an uproar because 2 men have mysteriously died of what looks like the plague. Sherlock doesn't believe this is the case, and he is determined to find out how these men died. Will he discover what the Death Cloud is before it's too late? Is it actually the plague? To learn this, and so much more, read the book!
Why I Picked it Up: I picked it up because I love the tales of Sherlock Holmes, and the thought of reading about his younger years sounded quite interesting.
Why I Finished It: What a great mystery! I can never guess how mystery books will end, so I had to finish it to figure out what the Death Cloud was!
I’d Give this Book To: Anyone who is a fan of mystery books, and definitely anyone who is a fan of Sherlock Holmes. Also, this particular author used to write for the Doctor Who radio series, so anyone who is a fan of Doctor Who would love this book too! P.S. if you don't know who Doctor Who is...look it up! There are books as well as TV series!
