This Dark Endeavor by Kenneth Oppel

Reviewed By: A.T.
Brace yourself for the prequel to Mary Shelley's gothic classic, Frankenstein. In this book we learn about the early years of Victor Frankenstein, before he becomes the mad scientist that we think of him today. Victor's twin brother Konrad takes ill, and Victor takes it upon himself to cure his brother, no matter the consequences. Throw into the mix their cousin Elizabeth and their best friend Henry, and you have the beginnings of a wild adventure as they search for the Elixir of Life. Will they succeed? Will they be tricked? Read the book to find out!
Why I Picked it Up: I picked it up because I love the other books by this author, and I've always liked the story of Dr. Frankenstein and his monster.
Why I Finished It: I finished the book because I had to know how it ended! Was it going to be a cliff hanger? Was there going to be another book in the series?
I’d Give this Book To: Anyone who likes to read historical fiction, and anyone who is interested in the original story, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.
