The Odyssey by Homer

Reviewed By: M.S.
This story is written back in the olden times in Greece back when the Trojan war happened at Troy. It follows the adventures of Odysseus the man who survived Troy but has been "lost at sea" for the past 20 years, or at least that's what everyone believes. When he is released from his captivity by Kalypso he then sets out on several adventures with his crew so he can return to his hometown of Ithaka before the suitors take over his house. You probably have several questions at this point but in order to figure everything out and follow Odysseus through death and fighting and love you have to read the book.
Why I Picked it Up: My It was a required reading at my school for English class.
Why I Finished It: I was required to and I guess it was sort of interesting.
I’d Give this Book To: To anyone who has a very high reading level or likes Greek mythology or has a lot of patience. This book is verrrrry long and hard to understand unless you really pay attention. Good luck!

Librarian Side Note: There are a lot of translations out there for every reading level, so find one that works for you and enjoy!
